I-695, Maryland: Life Happens

Traffic builds and we drive through the single file lane like cattle. Moving at a snail’s pace, I was suddenly stopped in this spot for a moment. I made this photo. What happened here besides the obvious and why? Clearly, the young lady on the left is very upset and the young lady on the right is trying to help calm the situation. At least that’s my read on it. A picture is 1000 words, maybe you see something different. The other car in the scene is in front of the red car. It was a small SUV, which appears to be a company vehicle because there’s branding on the side. Nonetheless, it looks like everyone is okay, but the pain of dealing with the rest of the day, insurance, any delayed injuries, re-living the experience when everyone wants to know what happened; stack that on all the other things on our mind will make just about anyone exhausted. I have been there and done that. Maybe it was preventable and maybe not, life happens.
