I stopped at my mom’s house.
January 6, 2025 - 1 minute readThis afternoon I stopped at my mom’s house. On my way out, I picked these textures from around her property. I didn’t go there with that intention to create something. I was inspired. My mom is a huge inspiration in my life. So I went with it and decided in that moment I would make photos of them. I didn’t have the vase or the little jars and holder. I stopped at Goodwill and knew I would find something. I knew it would jump out at me. I made a purchase—hardly $5 in total for both items.
I arranged the textures and let it flow. Then I knew it was time to stop. I set up my still life and made these photos with my FujiFilm X100s on a tripod and an off-camera flash.
I enjoy creating when it hits me. I can’t ignore it. I hope you enjoy and do something for you when it feels right.
